Cornbread And Sausage Stuffing Recipe
It's almost Thanksgiving time and that means its stuffing time. Stuffing is my favorite part of a Thanksgiving dinner except for maybe the pumpkin pie. To make this wonderful tasting stuffing for your Thanksgiving dinner you will need approximately these ingredients according to how much you want to make:
1 quart of dried bread crumbs or you can use the pre-made seasoned crumbs or the stove top mix.
1 quart of cornbread crumbs
1/2 pound of hot sausage (I use Jimmy Dean)
1/2 a small onion
1/2 cup of celery
dashes of salt and pepper
1/2 tsp of sage if it isn't in your mix
First you will need to brown your sausage pieces in a frying pan. Once the sausage has browned well, add your chopped onions, celery, salt, pepper and sage on top and let simmer for another 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
In a large metal bowl combine your bread crumbs and cornbread crumbs together. After that add your browned sausage, onion and celery mix in with your bread and cornbread crumbs and mix together. After that get a square glass dish or a square metal pan and place the mixture into the pan. You can also use some to stuff your turkey with. If you place the pan of stuffing in the oven along with your turkey it should only take about 30 minutes to cook. You may need to adjust the amounts on all the ingredients, depending on how much stuffing you need or want or how much you want to stuff your turkey with and have some left over. Happy Thanksgiving!
